Education

KEDB prioritizes the education of our youth, recognizing its vital role in shaping the next generation of leaders. One of our main focuses is to ensure that the youth have access to quality education and career advancement opportunities, which we believe are key to their growth and success.

2023 - 2024 Events & Impact:

Career Awareness Fair

Professionals from various fields were invited to speak with middle school students about their career paths, offering them valuable insights from real-life experiences.

Career Exploration Fair

Multiple companies were given booths to share information and resources regarding employment possibilities available within their organization to 8th - 12th grade students.

Reality Fair

KEDB collaborated in organizing an event that aimed to equip high school students with the essential financial skills and knowledge to prepare them for their future.

Sophomore Exploration Day

Students visited various departments in the County of Kauaʻi, Koa Kea, and the Grand Hyatt Kauaʻi to gain knowledge about their functions and potential career prospects.

Kauaʻi Creative Technology Center (KCTC)

Great news! Our center has undergone a complete renovation and is now ready to welcome you. We offer a safe and inclusive space where young minds can explore their passions and develop new skills. Join us and discover the endless possibilities of the digital world!

Community

At KEDB, we understand the value of community, and we're excited to give you a sneak peek into the events we've hosted and organized. While this may not be a complete list of our community engagement, we're thrilled to share a glimpse with you.

All Position Football Camp

We teamed up with Herbiegives, NFL Steelers Players and Kauaʻi Natives Nick & Nate Herbig, to launch the very first all-position football camp on Kauaʻi.

  • FREE to all 3rd - 11th graders

  • Over 700 participates

    • Coached by Nick & Nate Herbig as well as numerous other NFL players and football professionals. 

Broadband Hoʻike

We are proud to have brought the first ever broadband hoʻike to Kauaʻi, which was open to organizations and the public. This event provided valuable information on the latest broadband technology and resources, and a great chance to learn and network with like-minded individuals and organizations.

Hoʻolauleʻa No Ka Honua

A community gathering aimed at uniting people and raising awareness about Earth Day, featuring informative resources for the public, games, prizes, raffles, and more.

  • Interactive Demonstrations​

Macyʻs Mahalo Event

A mahalo event was organized to show appreciation to Macy's employees for their years of dedication and commitment, even during the uncertain times of the store closure. The event's purpose was to offer support and resources to the employees for their future endeavors.

Teachers Appreciation

The KEDB staff expressed their appreciation for our Kauaʻi teachers by volunteering at various schools. We are grateful to all the teachers for their steadfast dedication to supporting our youth.
